5/29/08  Midwest Airlines charging for luggage.  MILWAUKEE (AP) — Midwest Airlines will charge passengers $20 each way for a second checked bag starting next month. Starting Saturday for travel after June 15. It'll still be free to check one bag. But the airline says those bags must weigh no more than 50 pounds.
Active duty military personnel and elite members of the company's frequent flyer program will be exempt.
There will be no cost for wheelchairs, strollers, child car seats and similar items.
